September and October's courses have come and gone, very successful they were too. The main aim of each course was to paint on either a traditional dark Burnt Umber or on a Black ground. the wonderful results of the 2 courses are below. The main outcome was that my students finished their paintings much quicker - why? - because the dark tones were already there. They only had to paint the mid and light tones, rather like a Rembrandt portrait.
